THE RENAISSANCE CENTER, DICKSON, TENNESSEE This
102,798 sq. ft. facility represents a dynamic new direction in education
envisioned by a non-profit organization, the Jackson Foundation. Organized
around a cone-roofed, sky-lit rotunda, a pair of two-story long rectangular
wings provide the main mass of the structure, spreading to the north and east
with upward sloping roofs implying the wings of an airplane. In this case, a
strong desire to create a unique facility using quality, long-lasting materials
and incorporating cutting edge, state of the art technologies was paramount. The
latest learning and instructional technology are emphasized while marrying the
arts and the sciences within a structure that evokes an excitement for
learning. Awards.
