| LAKESHORE CHRISTIAN
CHURCH, ANTIOCH, TENNESSEE
Located in a former “Media Play” big-box retail store,
this contemporary congregation sought an open and flexible
space for their young worshippers. They were excited to
re-invent this commercial space and re-cycle a vacant
building in the heart of their community. The new exterior
elements included adding dynamic new signage, light towers
and a steel canopy element that projects the church’s
branding to the transitioning neighborhood. Upon entry
to the building one is on axis with the stage and the
pulpit that can be viewed through pivoting doors. Other
elements include a café area, staff offices, classrooms,
children’s care and a play room with a jungle gym. The
plan allows for expansion into other parts of the building
through shelling out empty spaces that can later be occupied
and built-out as the congregation grows. |
