BASIN ALLEY BUILDING NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE This 1935
structure is located in Nashville's entertainment district. The 38,000 square
foot, 5-story industrial style building was originally a hardware store and
lends itself well to the proposed adaptive reuse, with a retail entertainment
venue on the street level and a high-tech office function on the upper floors.
We worked with the local Rehabilitation Committee and the local and State
Historical Societies in developing an acceptable design. The proposed exterior
design includes contextual replacement windows and graphic banner scrims,
allowing the original building to still be viewed. In addition, a roof patio and
"Imaginarium" above the roof level, that met the historical groups' concerns
have been integrated. |
