CALHOUN HALL AND GARLAND HALL, VANDERBILT UNIVERSITY,
NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE This project included restoration of the two 1928
collegiate gothic academic buildings in the heart of Vanderbilt University's
campus with a 20,000 square foot addition to Calhoun Hall. Connections were made
between each level of the four-story addition and the existing building, and
finishes were coordinated between the renovated spaces and the addition so that
in everyday use the buildings would look and function as one. The scope included
upgrades of mechanical, electrical, and code deficiencies. New classrooms and
faculty offices were provided and equipped with state of the art technology all
within the aesthetic and contextual constraints of two highly significant
historic structures. Awards.
