AMERISITE 6TH AVENUE
STORAGE, NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE Amerisite 6th Avenue Storage is a small-scale self-storage facility sited in the heart of Downtown Nashville. The existing 1950s building was converted from a one-story retail and warehouse building into a modern three-story storage facility. The pre-existing shell of brick and block masonry was preserved, while the interior elements were completely gutted and renovated to accommodate a lobby, office, restrooms, merchandise area and various-sized storage units. The new structure is composed of industrial building elements with the use of steel columns, beams, bar-joists and concrete floors. Steel columns were retrofitted on the first floor to support the two upper stories. The building demonstrates a model for future adaptive reuse projects in Downtown Nashville. Awards. |
