CUMBERLAND PLAY PARK, NASHVILLE, TENNESSEE
EOA Architects PLLC with Hargreaves Associates and Hawkins Partners, Inc.

In 2010, EOA Architects was on the design team selected to produce the first project from the previous Nashville Riverfront Master Plan, the Children’s Adventure Play Park.

This environmentally conscience interactive play park is located between the Woodland Street Pedestrian Bridge and the Korean Veterans Memorial Bridge. Planned within these 8 acres are interactive opportunities with water in the ‘hollow’, a rock wall for climbing, a large grass amphitheater with stage and canopy for live performances and an esplanade for strolling along the river’s bank with stunning views back to the city’s skyline. Along with being a vital member of the design team overseeing the conceptual plan of the entire park, EOA’s specific charge included the design of the stage and canopy within the amphitheater along with a cedar and acrylic clad maintenance structure that will be used by Metro Parks. Awards.
